What is the timeframe for submission?
The primary goal for the Curated Workshop is our 2nd DLC installment, and we will review content for inclusion as long as possible before release!
How will I know my mod has been accepted?
Gears for Breakfast will reach out to those who have been selected for official inclusion in the game.
Can I make a video trailer for my mod in the Curated Workshop, will it decrease my chances of being accepted?
Photos, gifs, and video trailers are great ways to showcase your mod to the community! No, they will not decrease your chances of inclusion!
Can people subscribe to/download/play my mod submitted to the Curated Workshop?
Mods that are submitted to the Curation workshop are not able to be subscribed to.The developers will be looking to the community to rate up items they would most like to see made available within A Hat in Time, via official DLC inclusion (as was done with Seal the Deal). Ultimately, the developers will choose which items to select and add to A Hat in Time.
The ready-to-play workshop is still open and will remain open, and modders can submit to both workshops.
Are these mods that creators can charge for via the Steam Workshop?
No, these are items that are going to be considered for inclusion in DLC 2, just like we did for Seal the Deal with the winners of the modding competition. Creators of mods that are included officially will be compensated for their work.
Can I use copyrighted material?
Submissions to the Curated Workshop should be creations containing only original work or assets supplied with the modding tools.
Can I use existing assets (in game/unused assets) in my submission into the workshop?
Yes, everything supplied with the modding tools are free to use.
What kind of mods are allowed for submission (maps, outfits, dyes, etc.)?
You may submit any mod for curation consideration! Consider what you think would be a good addition to the game, and have fun!
Can I submit a mod I have already released publicly for Curated Workshop consideration?
Yes, mods that have already been released can still be considered for curation. However, we're primarily interested in fresh new content that no one has experienced yet, so chances of inclusion may be reduced if the mod is already out in the wild.
Does my mod need to be complete to add to the curated Workshop, or can I just submit an idea and work on it later/update it?
Mods submitted should be as complete as possible when they are submitted. However, mods that are submitted still have the ability to be updated after submission.
Are Group Submissions allowed into the Curated Workshop?
Yes! The user who uploads the mod must identify all other contributors in the submission, provide their names and contact information, and specify contribution percentages of the individual Contributors.
Is there there an age requirement to submit mods to the Curated Workshop?
All submissions are subject to the Steam Terms of Service, including any age limitations. See more at: https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/
Why isn't my curated item showing up in the list even if it's set to public?
When a mod is uploaded to the Curated Workshop, Steam requires submission of certain tax/banking information before it’s made public.
Why does Steam ask for certain tax/banking information when submitting to the Curated Workshop?
Steam requires certain tax and payment information so you can get compensated for your submission if it should be accepted. This payment information is kept private until the item has been accepted and you are ready to be compensated for your work.
